:iconblueskye27:HAPPY BIRTHDAY CINDY!!! This is a special thank you feature for my friend Cindy, for the gift of a subscription. She waited until she could see that my subby was about to expire, then surprised me with a new one a couple of weeks ago. What a sweetheart. So, I am a little late with this as a thank you, but it is, coincidentally, also her birthday. Here you go! The poetry of *Blueskye27 Decorated with images from a random search to match her themes. Enjoy! Enjoy! Oh, and stop by her page today (June 8th) and wish her a happy birthday.

let us love

with the lush
unrestraint of
wild roses

with the
abandon of
untamed blackberries

with the blatant
laughter of tumbling
honeysuckle

and when
winter comes
we will

cling to
each other and
remember

the spring

Wood and Water

--for me, a fantasy about a tree that fell into a river

Slipping into the morning waters,
he’s startled to be so easily comfortable there,
so still, so quiet, but instincts run deep,
and the current will not be denied.
Gently at first, as if uncertain, the waters carry him
along, hastening almost imperceptibly
as the sun rises higher, beribboning the river
with tendrils of heat.
The wood responds, quickening, absorbing, tumbling
forward in the suddenly swirling waters, locked
now in that dripping embrace, moving in and
out, racing in waters that seem to boil.
Gripped in its rhythm, sweet and irresistible, panting,
near to bursting, he sails over a fall,
shocked at the jumping of his heart as he dives,
splintering as he pushes deep and deeper still
into the river’s core - this dark, blue-eyed pool.

If trees could scream, this one would.

Straining forward, shattering again in one last
embracing wave, he lay quiet beneath the
waters, spent, done.
Silent, surrounded by that blue, he finds
himself carried gently upward,
the waters whispering, sighing,
promising more should he but
come again.
Safely is he left on the surface
and the shore.
Finding himself whole, he rises, not timber
but a man, glistening with her
wetness in the lowering light.
He smiles at the blue-eyed waters,
now soft and still as dew,
then turns and heads
upstream to make the
journey anew.

of summer storms,
lightning on thunder,
brilliant blooms, vines
of ripening melons,

vibrant boughs, vigorous
maize, redolent rolling
smells, patchwork
landscaped quilts

the luminous harmony
of winter falls and drifting
snow, ice transparent as
clean windows and breath
clouds in chill winds
and keen calm

Finally, for Cindy. An ID photo that really is me, not just someone who looks like I did way back when. It was actually taken way back when. Can you count the eyes?

I am just a silly old woman enjoying what I have left of my life with photography and Photoshop. Art, photography and I have been together for a very long time and I have many web pages to show for it. A Message To My Visitors and Watchers

:wave: Hi Everyone,

I find myself increasingly getting behind on deviations and responding to messages & comments. At the same time I am finding less time available to be here. So, I am thinking it is time to address the volume here that I might still enjoy my time at dA and stay in touch with all of my friends. I do not plan to delete anything just yet, but I have decided that I might not be able to look at all of the new deviations or answer all of the messages in a timely manner. So please help me out by:

1. Sending me a note if you have an urgent message that I need to answer so that it doesn't get buried in a back log of comments and messages.

2. Please let me know (by note whenever possible) if you have featured me so that I can keep my feature quilt current.

3. Keep featuring lots of wonderful new art and photography, so that I can enjoy the best of what you love and keep faving new things, even when I am not able to look at every new submission. I really do enjoy reading all of your journals, even if I don't leave comments and most of the time I do read all of them.

4. Along the same idea, if you upload a deviation that you know I'd be particularly interested in seeing, please let me know about it so there won't be any chance that I will miss it.

5. Please know how much I appreciate all of my watchers, old and new, as well as all of your faves and comments. So consider this my thank you in advance, just in case it takes me a while to get back to you.
